Blah

Yesterday I got to re-do our vacation since the room we had reserved was a smoking room instead of a non-smoking room and they didn't have any non-smoking rooms available. So, instead of staying in the resort in Pawley's Island, we're going to stay in the super-swanky 4 diamond Radisson in Myrtle Beach for the first half of our trip, then on Tuesday we're going to drive down to Charleston and stay in the hotel that SRC is springing for (for my interview) and then we'll spend the rest of our vacation in a Bed & Breakfast in Charleston. I think we'll be happier overall and we're spending a little less money than we had originally planned so it's all good.

Here's my log:
B: 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1/2 scoop protien powder, 1 egg
S: 2 rice cakes, 1 tbsp. peanut butter
L: 2 c. salad, 3 oz. tofu, 1 oz. goat cheese, 1/2 c. salsa
S: 1 c. yogurt, 1 banana
D: Cheat Meal! We went to the olive garden and I had 1/2 an order of stuffed mushrooms, 2 breadsticks, Pasta e Fagioli soup and Shrimp Primavera. It was yummy!

Workout: I ended up resting even though it wasn't a planned rest day. I'll make up for it later.

Interview Report

Well I had an interview with PDS yesterday. This is the company in Denver. I think it went really well. I had my interview mojo on so I think I'll at least get a thumbs up to go interview in Denver. We'll see what happens. We could afford a NICE house in Denver with 4 bedrooms and air conditioning and a view of the mountains. And there's a couple of schools that Sean could get into. If the choice is between Denver and here, Denver definitely wins.

In other news, we're getting ready to go on vacation in Pawley's Island, South Carolina. It's supposed to have scattered thunder storms the whole time we're there but "scattered" doesn't mean all-day so I'm sure we'll still have a great time.

Here's my log for yesterday:

B: 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. blueberries, 3/4 c. milk, 1 egg
S: 2 rice cakes, 1 tbsp peanut butter
L: Boca patty, 1/2 oz. lowfat cheese, WW english muffin, 14 baby carrots, 1 peach
S: 3/4 c. cottage cheese
D: Chole (olive oil, chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, garlic), 1/2 c. rice
S: 1/2 c. lowfat ice cream

Workout: I ran 2.64 miles in 35 minutes on the treadmill. I'm definitely getting the hang of this running thing. I think I still prefer to run outside but since it's so hot out, I'm pretty much restricted to the treadmill so I don't die of heat exhaustion.

What a strange few days it has been

Well, it's been a strange few days so I thought I might as well start writing in this thing. Last week I sent out some resumes on a whim. The next day, I came home to two phonecalls on my voicemail: one from Premier Data Services in Denver and the other from Scientific Research Corporation in Charleston, SC. They both want to interview me. So today I get to meet with the PDS people at their office in Maryland because it's easier than flying me out to Denver and next week I get to interview with the SRC people in Charleston since I'll be on vacation there anyway. So we started getting all excited about the possibilities of either moving out west to Denver or down south to warm and sunny Charleston. Well on Monday, our whole world got turned upside down. I got an email from BAE Systems who coindidentally laid me off back in 2001. They want to fly me to San Diego ASAP for an interview there. You could've told me there was an alien in the room and I would've been more likely to believe it. I just sat there staring at my computer screen in shock. I forwarded the email to Sean. When he called me, he was practically hyperventallating with glee. All he could say was "WHAT?!" So, two weeks from now I get to fly back to San Diego for a few days. I can't believe we might get to have the triumphant return sooner than we thought. We can't afford to live there any better than we can afford to live here but Sean would be able to get right back into school and pick up where he left off, which would be nice and we wouldn't have to have so much money in the budget for vacations because Sean's parents would only be a long day's drive away.

In other news, when I wieghed myself this morning, I hit my lowest weight ever, 168 pounds. That brings the total weight lost to 52 pounds. Pretty impressive, I think!

Here's my log for yesterday:

B: 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1/2 c. soymilk, 1/4 c. milk (I ran out of soymilk), 1 egg
S: 2 rice cakes, 1 tbsp. peanut butter
L: Boca patty, whole wheat english muffin, 1/2 oz. lowfat cheese, 14 baby carrots
S: 3/4 c. cottage cheese, 1/2 c. pineapple
D: Peanut Butter Chicken (chicken, batter, canola oil, peanut butter, sugar, soy sauce, sesame seeds), 1/2 c. rice
S: banana

Workout: Super Charged Sculpting (39 min.) That's a really hard workout for only being 39 minutes. My butt's going to be really sore tonight, I can already tell. I used 10-12 pound weights for my heavies, 10 for my mediums and 3-5 for my lights. My major accomplishment was that I did the side planks on my feet (as opposed to my knees).

I'm going to try to keep this blog up every day. We'll see how that goes.
