It's going to be a long day

Tonight I get to fly out to San Diego. My plane leaves at 6:20 so I won't get there until around 2:00 in the morning Virginia time. Luckily I'll have a laptop, an iPod and a book with me so I'll be able to keep myself entertained. I don't know if the airport has internet or not so I guess I'll find out when I get there. Last night I went to Enrichment meeting at church. It wasn't too lame. The topic was jounaling and I got to run one of the tables. Mine was just a list of fun questions to answer like "What is your true haircolor?" and "Do you prefer the Jetsons or the Flintstones?" We spent most of the time chitchatting and laughing about the answers which I guess was pretty much the whole point.

Here's my log for yesterday:
B: 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. mango
S: 2 rice cakes, 1 tbsp. peanut butter
L: Boca burger, WW english muffin, 1 c. broccoli
S: 1/2 c. cottage cheese, 1/2 c. pineapple
D: pasta salad with chicken, sushi, chips & salsa, desert (a few chocolatey things)

Workout: didn't have time

South Carolina Trip Report

Well we got back from vacation on Friday night. The trip was great! Charleston is a really neat city. We stayed at the Inn at Middleton Place which was amazingly beautiful. We got to see tons of wildlife. Even some aligators! In Charleston we went on a carriage tour of the historic district and got to check out the gigantic 300-year-old mansions. One day for lunch we went to Queen Anne's Revenge, a really good steak and seafood restaurant that's filled with real pirate stuff. In the middle of it all I had an interview with SRC. I think it went really well but I haven't heard back from them yet. The HR guy said I should hear back from him by the end of the day today. On Sunday after we got home, we went to a baseball game. The Padres totally spanked the Nationals. It was nice to see my hometown team win. Tomorrow night I get to fly out to San Diego so I can interview with BAE on Thursday afternoon. I noticed on my itinerary that I'll be in First Class on the flight home. SWEET!

Here's my log for yesterday:

S: 1/2 c. cottage cheese, 1/2 c. pineapple

No Kissing in the Ocean!!!

Well, here we are in Myrtle Beach. We checked into the hotel yesterday at about 5:00 and lounged around and went in the pool. We got "The Jazz Package" so the hotel hooked us up with a gift certificate and a limo ride to the Jasmine Supper Club for dinner where we got to eat DIVINE food and be entertained by a neat jazz quartet. Then we went and played mini-golf on a pirate ship! This morning after breakfast we headed off to the beach. It was a nice day and the water was super warm. It wasn't anything like we're used to being from the West coast (where the water is about 60 degrees in August.) It was like a salty, sandy pool with waves. So we start smooching in the ocean and some kid yells, "Hey! No kissing in the ocean!" We just died laughing. A little while later, we start smooching again and the same kid yells, "Hey! No kissing in the ocean!!!" All I could think was, "Do you're parents know you talk to strangers?" One more time and he would've gotten the finger. Anyway, we went back to the jazz place tonight and their house band was playing. They pretty much rocked. I'm not really into jazz be they were pretty awesome. Tomorrow we're heading down to Charleston.
