Viva Las Vegas!

Well, our anniversery went a little different than we originally planned. Sean surprised me with a weekend trip to Vegas. We had a blast! We got to hang out with Paul and Sarah, whom we hadn't seen in ages. The whole exercise and healthy eating thing kinda went out the window all weekend but I'll live. We ate mountains of yummy food. It was glorious!

It isn't pretty and I don't know how many points I ate but here's my log for yesterday:

B: fat-free blueberry muffin (the label said it was 3 servings, who cuts a muffin into 3 peices?!)
L: Western bacon cheeseburger, 3/4 serving of crisscut fries
D: Egg, ham and cheese sandwich, 1/2 pancake

Anniversery

I convinced Sean to flake out on his meetings tonight so we can celebrate our anniversery properly. We've decided to go to a swanky fancy-pants restaurant and then maybe go to a movie or something. It's a little place in Poway called House on the Hill and it totally rocks. We ate there once on a date night because we had a coupon. It's a steak and seafood place and the food there is to die for! I'm going into the weekend with 28 flex points so I should be fine to splurge a little. I think since I've been below 180 for a while now, I need to ratchet down my points target to 22. It'll be tough but I can do it. I'll just have to clean up my eating just a little bit and I won't be able to have quite as many treats on the weekends. I'm going to start that on Monday. My workouts are going really well. Last night I did Cathe's Step Blast from the DVD for the first time. I've done it a few times from the Tivo recorded from Fit TV but it's a lot harder without the commercial breaks. I ended up having to skip the challenge at the end. I just wasn't up for it. Next time I'll try to finish the whole thing. I just realized this morning that I've worked out 6 days in a row so I have to take a rest day today. I was kind of looking forward to Supersets but I guess that'll have to wait until tomorrow. I can't believe February is almost over. I'm going to have to come up with a new rotation for March. I'm going to work really hard next month 'cuz I really want to look smoking hot for my 31st birthday next month. I'd love to have to buy some new, smaller clothes.

Here's my log for yesterday:

Crazy Morning

I had a crazy morning today. I went to work at 7:00, worked for an hour, drove home, took the kids and myself to the dentist, spent two hours there, took the kids back home, went back to work, worked for an hour and then took the car to get smogged at lunchtime. Phew! It'll be nice to sit down and work for the rest of the day. All three of us have a teeny cavity and Nick apparently chipped a tooth and didn't notice. Also all of Nick's fillings are falling out. Emily gets to go to an orthodontist. I get to go back in two weeks for an uber-cleaning because my gums suck. The dentist said I've got great teeth but lousy gums. So now I get to have a prescription toothbrush and prescription mouthwash. Goody! The toothbrush looks really cool though and it was cheaper than one of those fancy Oral-b ones. I also have to go in for an exam every 3 months until my gums start looking better. Lucky me! On the exercise front, last night I did Cathe's Rhythmic Step for the first time from the TiVo. It was kinda tricky but really fun. I couldn't manage all the jumping but it was easy to modify. I have a feeling that one will be in my next round of video purchases.

Nick's Birthday Weekend

Well, I lost track of my flex points over the weekend. I don't think I did too badly though. We went to Disneyland on Friday and it was WAY too crowded for us. We went on two rides and had a nice lunch and went home. We'll go again next month for my birthday and I think we're going to go on a Wednesday instead of a Friday. Saturday we got a clown fish and an anemone for our fishtank. Feeding the anemone is the coolest thing ever! You cut off a tiny piece of shrimp and reach in the tank and put it close to the anemone and it grabs the shrimp out of your fingers with its tentacles and eats it. It's so bizarre to watch. We also took Nick shopping for new church clothes and a haircut. I swear, every time we get that boy a haircut, he ages 5 years. Last night we finally had Nick's birthday cake. He wanted german chocolate cake so now there's a ton of leftover cake taunting me in the kitchen.

Here's my log for yesterday:

B: 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. blueberries, 3/4 c. soymilk 4.5 pts
S: rice snacks (2 servings) 2 pts

Eeek! My son is 14!!!!!

Today is Nick's 14th birthday. I'm a little bit freaked out about it but I'll live. He wants me to make steak for dinner tonight but since Sean won't be home tonight, I think I'll talk him into moving the steak dinner to Sunday and taking him for his birthday burger at Red Robin tonight instead. We're going to Disneyland tomorrow! Nick's all excited 'cuz we're going to do all the stuff that HE wants to do so I'm pretty sure it'll be rollercoaster craziness all day. I was smart and made a reservation at the Blue Bayou a couple of weeks ago so we don't have to wait in line for 20 minutes and then have them tell us they're booked up for the next 6 weeks. I'm doing pretty well on the diet and exercise front although my scale weight hasn't changed much. The only thing that's promising is that last week my scale jumped around like crazy from day to day and this week it's been 179.5 every day. I haven't done the math (I know, bad Kristy, bad!!!) but the trend is definitely going down. Hang on, I'm going to do the math now.......In 2 weeks, I've lost a little less than half a pound. Whooopeeeeeee!!!!! Better than nothin, I guess. I'm still thinking it's because I've really stepped up my workouts and my body's adjusting. I'm optimistic that I'll start seeing the weight go down pretty soon. Last night I tried Cathe's Boot Camp workout and I've determined that she's trying to kill me. The cardio in that one is freaking insane!!! At least it's simple to follow. Now if only I could get through the full minute all 8 times.

Here's my food and exercise log for yesterday:

B: oatmeal, blueberries and soymilk 4.5 pts
L: SW chicken pita and small fries 9 pts
S: rice crispy treat 3 pts
S: chocolate 3 pts
D: Fresh tomatoes and chicken over cheesy millet 5 pts
S: bread and cheese 6 pts

Workout: Boot Camp 4 pts
