Friendly Competition
So my husband and I have started a little friendly competition. Whoever loses the most weight in 8 weeks wins. We started on Saturday and we'll wrap it up the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We'll probably have a round two after Christmas. We'll be doing an official weekly weigh-in every Saturday. Sean has a little bit of an advantage over me since he has more weight to lose, he's just starting (you always lose fastest at the beginning) and he's a guy (guys lose weight faster than girls due to naturally having more muscle mass.) Fortunately, I have more willpower and better exercise habits so maybe that'll even things out. I figure I win either way because I'd love for Sean to lose a little weight. I think it would be great for his health.
As far as diet and exercise goes, I had a bit of a cheese bender over the weekend at a French restaurant (turns out there's a fabulous French restaurant in Escondido, who knew?!) It was heavenly but I know I ate about a billion calories worth of cheese that night. Imported French cheese is my kryptonite. On Friday, I went for a great run. My longest one since I ran in that 10k race. I ran 4.23 miles in 45 minutes and I worked out my run so I ended up at Emily's school so we could walk home together. Emily's school is at the top of a monster of a hill so I was totally out of breath when I got to the top. It was nice walking home together though. The school is only about half a mile from our house so it was a really easy walk.
Here's my log for yesterday:
B: oatmeal with blueberries, soymilk and flaxseeds
S: honey-fried tofu wrap
L: tofu & veggie stir fry with brown rice
D: sweet potato & bean burritos (it turns out that I don't really hate sweet potatoes, it's just that my mom sucks at cooking them.)
