Nike+ Power Songs of Greatness

I'm trying to decide what my new Power Song should be on my iPod.

The Contenders:

The Cap'm by They Might be Giants - Although they are the coolest band on the planet, I usually don't run to TMBG but this one's got just the right tempo and keeps me bookin' it through the whole song

The Mesopotamians by They Might be Giants - Another rockin' song from the the new TMBG album that makes me feel like running.

Worker's Song by Dropkick Murphys - Putting the bagpipes back in Rock 'n Roll where they belong

Nice Guys Finish Last by Green Day - Almost all Green Day songs are suitable for running but this one's my favorite

Barroom Hero by Dropkick Murphys - Another song that keeps me running fast even when I'm wiped out

High School Never Ends by Bowling for Soup - I've had this album for months and I finally listened to it for the first time yesterday. Definitely good running music.

Friendly Goodbye by Bowling for Soup - This should be my theme song. If you've heard the song and you know me well, you'll know why.

Man, It's so Loud in Here by They Might be Giants - TMBG does techno. 'Nuff said.

One Angry Dwarf and 200 Sollemn Faces by Ben Folds Five - Nobody rocks out on the piano quite like Ben. NOBODY!

Wicked Sensative Crew by Dropkick Murphys - Another Dropkick song just 'cuz they're so suitable for running.

Reptile and Samauri by Oingo Boingo - I could listen to Elfman sing the dictionary and it would be awesome

So there's my list. I was going to find videos or audio clips of all the songs but I got lazy so you only get the first two.

As far as my diet and exercise goes, workouts have been sporadic since Sean sprained his ankle (he had a minor wipe out on his motorcycle, he's okay. His gear did its job.) I've decided to limit my baking to once a week. There's really no difference between my family polishing off an entire batch of cookies or pan of brownies in one day and stretching them out over the week. As long as I only bake one treat per week, we're good.

Email Exchange with a Local Radio DJ

An email I sent to a local radio DJ:

Dear Radio DJ,

I would like to respectfully request that you not play "Jump Around" by House of Pain during the 4 o'clock hour. That song makes me feel compelled to gouge my eardrums out with an ice pick. Seriously, I thought I was rid of that song when it stopped being cool 15 years ago.

Sincerely,

Kristy

His Response:

Dear radio listener,

Thank you for your respectful request. We ask that you refrain from gouging your eardrums out with an ice pick. Perhaps some squishy soft earplugs would do the trick. Another suggestion is to use that 3 minutes of time to have a nice stretch - or perhaps a tasty snack from the break room. Getting one's blood flowing and proper nutrition has proven to increase productivity significantly in ergonomics research.

Thanks for your lovely email,

Greg

My Response:

Dude, do you owe Everlast money or something? I can think of a lot of other one hit wonders who could use the royalties.

His Response:

Kristy,

Twice today you have provided me with a much needed chuckle. Indeed a true "lol".

Thank you,

Greg

Then he sent me a message on MySpace saying I rule.

Great, I have a stalker now.
